About Us
Anyone can dance and everyone should!

What Sets Us Apart
At our studio, we focus not only on teaching correct dance techniques but also on nurturing creativity and artistic expression in an inclusive, family-friendly environment. We help our students build self-esteem, embrace a healthy lifestyle, and foster growth both on and off the dance floor, whether or not dance is pursued as a career.
We have two studios fitted with professional joint-friendly sprung flooring and dance Marley from Harlequin, UK. Our flooring is of the same quality as that used by the Paris Opera.
Our curriculum covers a wide range of classical and contemporary dance styles, taught with professionalism and passion. We pride ourselves on fostering long-lasting relationships and personal development, underpinned by our core values of inclusivity, respect, and celebration of diversity—making our studio much more than just a dance class.
Joana Melchior
Artistic Director and Co-Founder
In 2019, I founded Attitude Dance Studio in Mauritius with the vision of creating a supportive and inspiring space where dancers can grow, thrive, and reach their full potential. I am passionate about sharing my knowledge with the dance community in Mauritius and helping students of all ages build confidence, technique, and a lifelong love for dance.
My professional training began at the State Ballet School in Berlin, followed by a Master’s Degree in Dance Pedagogy from Palucca University of Dance Dresden, Dresden. Over a 12-year performing career, I had the privilege of dancing at prestigious venues including Opera Leipzig, State Theatre Cottbus, and on international stages in Singapore and South Korea.
Teaching has always been at the heart of my journey. I have taught at leading institutions such as Stamford American International School and Brussels International Ballet School. I am proudly affiliated with Australian Teachers of Dancing (ATOD) and Royal Academy of Dance (RAD). In addition, I hold certifications as a Blackroll Instructor and in Acrobatic Arts Level 2.

Meet Our Team

Thristan
I've been passionate about ballet since I was 4 years old, training in the Royal Academy of Dance technique before earning a classical ballet teaching diploma and a postgraduate degree in education from the University of Cape Town. I love nature and the creative arts, and I also play the organ. As a dance instructor, I incorporate a wide array of dance styles into my teaching, including classical ballet, contemporary, African dance, and Horton Technique. This variety enriches my students' performances and their overall educational experience. I love what I do, because it allows me to share my lifelong passion for the arts and teaching.

I am Mila Danailova Bocheva, a passionate and versatile dancer and teacher from Bulgaria, proud to be part of Attitude Dance Studio. I trained in classical ballet at the National School of Dance Art in Sofia and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Dance Education, which gives me a strong foundation in both performance and teaching.
I have performed with the National Musical Theatre and developed experience across ballet, contemporary, jazz, and commercial styles. Over the years, I have discovered my love for teaching and enjoy working with students of all levels, helping them grow in both technique and confidence.
Through my international training and experience, I aim to bring creativity, discipline, and inspiration into every class, while encouraging each dancer to express themselves and develop a true passion for dance.

Megan
As a dance teacher specialising in K-Pop and Hip-Hop, I aim to inspire kids and teens through movement. My dance education started at age 5 with Classical Chinese Dance at Ming Tek School, but it was at 14 that I fell in love with K-Pop. This passion led me from dancing in my bedroom to joining the Hip-Hop crew, GryphSteps, during my time at the University of Guelph. Our university team earned second place at the Intercollege Dance Competition in Canada. Now based in Mauritius, I teach both K-Pop and Hip-Hop to young dancers. I have also been involved in various performances with the Shadow Danceland crew and co-choreographed the show "To the Stars" in August 2023.
